Louisiana Wing Airman Leadership School 

The Airman Leadership School (ALS) and the Non-Commissioned Officer School (NCOS) has been scheduled for 23 and 24 August 2008, which will be held in conjunction with the LAWG Training Academy. ALS is for cadets from C/AB to C/SrA and will focus on the history of CAP, phases of advancements, chain of command, basic drill, customs and courtesies, uniforms, mission, structure, and more. NCOS is for cadets from C/SSgt to C/TSgt. ALS and NCOS courses will begin on Saturday from 0830 – 1600 and on Sunday from 0830 – 1100. There is no cost for cadets other than for lunch or snacks.

Cadets interested in applying for staff positions are required to have attended the course they are applying for. Any C/TSgt and above interested in becoming an instructor for ALS must have a letter of recommendation from their squadron commander or DCC. C/SSgt may also apply and attend the course and will be assistant instructors until the grade of C/TSgt is achieved, at which time they may become full instructors.

All interested student cadets must submit a CAPF 31 (special activities form) and all cadets interested in becoming an instructor must submit a CAPF 31 and a letter of recommendation from their squadron commander or DCC.

Louisiana Wing Cadet Advisory Council 

The Louisiana Wing CAC Meeting is scheduled for TBA. The meeting will be conducted via a conference call from 1600-1700 CDT. This meeting is mandatory for all primary and assistant representatives, as elections for vice-chair and recorder will take place at this meeting. Representatives, in order to connect to the conference call, dial 1-877-227-9142, press 2, and enter the access code that has been provided to you. Representatives must also email their squadron's quarterly report to the chairman prior to the meeting.

Louisiana Wing Cadet Olympiad 

The Louisiana Wing Cadet Programs will offer a Cadet ES training weekend in the Spring of 2008 and will replace the Cadet Olympiad. Training will include DF instruction, orienteering/navigation, shelter building, and more.
